Second-grade students raised and released butterflies to celebrate the life of their friend, Haddie, who passed away 2 years ago. They gathered at the front of the school, where they had drawn elaborate chalk pictures and messages. Students talked about how Haddie always made them smile, and even students who didn’t know her, felt like they did, thanks to a slide show tribute put together by Robin White. Her parents and sisters celebrated too. Special thanks to Amanda Hudnall-Bolian And family for nurturing 20 caterpillars!
