The cooler temps and an overcast sky made for a great race day at Cambridge High School today. The high school boys competed in the small school division and were led by medalist Johnny Miller (5th place). The high school girls raced in the large school division so that they could make it back in time for homecoming preparations. The girls team finished 6th overall (out 12 teams). The junior high runners all ran very strong today too with several great finishes. Deegan Haines, Lydia Stevens, and Ellie Whitlatch all earned medals. Ellie along with Tanner Bills, Ava Colvin, Bella Marshall, Mia Holliday, and Sianna Barber clocked personal best times today. MS girls 5:00, MS boys 5:30, HS girls 7:00, HS boys 7:40.

CREATING NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR BHS!

Our Golden Eagles jr high football team traveled to Stewart to take on the Federal Hocking Lancers last night. Several players contributed in the 36-8 win. Mason Baxter rushed for 1 touchdown, and threw for 2 to Jimmy Bailey. Baxter also scored a two point conversion and intercepted a pass taking it back for a “pick-6” touchdown. Joey Lockhart scored a rushing touchdown and lead the team on the ground with some hard nosed running and blocking. Gavin Snyder added several rushing yards as well. Ciajah Bell and Tanner Snyder each added two point conversions to the scoring. The defense was lead up front by Tyler Delancy (QB sack), Conner Lewis, Noah Tanner, Cameron Roush, Sawyer Harpold, Bryce Bowman, and Bell. Lockhart and Bailey had several tackles at linebacker and Jimmie Staats was pivotal as a blitzing linebacker causing havoc in the backfield all night. T. Snyder, Baxter, and G. Snyder added several tackles on the edge playing in the secondary. Copied from the Belpre Jr High Football page #FlyEaglesFly #BelprePride #TheFutureIsBright Next game: Oct. 10 vs Van Devender

Belpre High School Athletic Boosters are organizing a sale of used uniforms to support the uniform fund, which is particularly important this year as our major fundraiser has been cancelled due to scheduling conflicts. Uniforms can be purchased for $10.00 at home football games and later at other home events. Out-of-town supporters can contact us privately to arrange a purchase. Your support directly benefits our exceptional student athletes.

We capped off the week with the 7th Annual Belpre Cross Country Invitational at Civitan Park on Saturday morning. We hosted over 500 runners from 32 different schools. The day kicked off by recognizing Mr Dave Wilcoxen and Mr Wayne Needs, who together started the first cross country team at Belpre 45 years ago, as our honorary starters. Belpre medalists for the day included Johnny Miller, Shy Miller, Nolan Rodgers, and Lydia Stevens. There were also several PR's earned by a whole host of Golden Eagles! We would like to thank all of the volunteers and workers for all of their tireless work to put this meet together. It is truly a showcase for the city of Belpre and could not be accomplished without the help of so many. We appreciate each and every one of you and thank you so much!

Congratulations to Belpre High School seniors Avery Varner and John Miller. They are our September students of the month! Avery plays on the volleyball and softball teams and is a member of student council and the National Honor Society. She plans on attending Ohio University in the fall to major in speech-language pathology. Johnny is a three sport athlete, running cross country and track while also playing baseball. He is a member of the National Honor Society and plans on attending college in the fall.

This week we started WIN time at BES. EVERY student in our building receives four 30 minute sessions of small group instruction on their level each week. We can't wait to see how much progress our students will make!

Huge shoutout to Carson Moore for shooting a 33 this evening! That 33 lowers the TVC record that he already owns, to an all time low score of 174 or an average 34.8 for the conference season! Wow! Awesome job Carson! We're proud of you! #FlyEaglesFly #BelprePride
