The sciences are becoming a major focus at the high school. This is Mrs. Erb's science class, This was a Flame Test Lab in which students identified the ions present based on their flame color.

Tonight's home girls varsity and junior high basketball games and family fun night has been POSTPONED. Varsity has been rescheduled for Jan 7th and Jr High for Jan 25th.

Make the big guy proud - Tuesday is Santa's Workshop Day at BES! Show up dressed up like Santa, his elves, the reindeer, or toys and presents. We can't wait to see your Christmas spirit!

There's Christmas spirit everywhere! Take a peek at the great looks our staff sported this week...plus, don't forget that we'll celebrate Merry Monday Morning next week by showing up in our best holiday pajamas! It's a great season to be at Belpre Elementary School!

Today, the sophomores dove into career and college exploration! They took the ASVAB Career Aptitude test, then enjoyed a tour of the engineering/industrial technology programs, healthcare wing, and a College Credit Plus overview at Washington State Community College! Thank you very much to WSCC for hosting us and to the service members that helped to proctor the ASVAB.

Belpre High School and BJHS are in the Holiday Spirit! Next week the BHS Student Council is sponsoring a holiday spirit week to lead us into our break. We hope to see many of our High School and Junior High Students participating. The week ends with the annual Students Vs. Staff Volleyball game hosted by the Freshman Class. Admission is $2 per student or a canned good that will be donated to the Eagle Closet.

Kids on Campus hosted a family night this past Wednesday, December 14th, 2022. This event was incredibly successful. Our total number of students and family members was 87! We started the evening off with 42 pizzas and by end of the event, there wasn’t a single pizza left! We had the opportunity to give attendance awards to five students. Johnathan Rexroad won our top award for being the only student with perfect attendance. We also had drawing for the 14 students who attended at least 75% of their scheduled days. The four students who won this prize were Blaine Keller, Cage Thompson, Maddox Sims, and Logan Kimble. After attendance awards, we played holiday trivia with the families with Kahoot, led by Tori Morgan. The students loved showing their families how to play a game that they play in their classes! The Marshall Family took first place, the Lincolns came in 2nd, and the Barkers took 3rd. Each of these families were given board games as their prize for winning trivia to encourage family time outside of the event. Overall, we are thrilled to see our Kids on Campus program thriving, and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with all of the families. We are excited to watch our program continue to grow in both number and success next semester. The Kids on Campus students and staff are very grateful to Eddie Lightner, our program coordinator, for planning such a successful event and leading such a successful program.

It's a special day in second grade! The students snuggled up in their pajamas to enjoy a surprise field trip to the movies. Even the Elf on the Shelf got to go!

Ms. Zoulek's class exercised their creative muscles by making beautiful Christmas ornaments for their friends and family. They'll be a lovely addition to the tree!

It's time for Hooray for the Holidays at Belpre Elementary! Dress up in your best (or ugliest) Christmas or holiday sweater tomorrow, Friday, December 16!

We are certainly grateful for Mr. VanPelt and the high school students spreading the Christmas spirit throughout the community. Yesterday they performed at the Belpre Rotary meeting. Thank you for using your talents to make our community better.

Last night our girls basketball team honored staff members that have made a positive impact in their life. We are proud of our three staff members honored: Mary Miller, Regan Turner and Wendy Calaway.

He's a mean one, that Mr. Grinch! Our second grade students are trying to help the Grinch's heart grow three sizes...but he's making it awfully difficult! From using the copy machine improperly to stealing the Christmas ornaments, he's really being a bad banana! Stick with us through next week to see if our students can shift the Grinch's shenanigans to something sweet before Christmas break!

Leading with compassion! Our fifth grade BES students are wonderful examples of that Portrait of a Graduate competency. This group of learners worked together to facilitate a food drive to benefit our area food pantries. We're so proud of their kindness and care for their community!

Our 7th and 8th graders know how to have a pep rally! We celebrated winter sports, did some dancing, held a very competitive cookie contest, and finished with an Eagle tradition--the Alma Mater all together!

Join us for our Belpre Elementary 5th/6th Grade Band and Elementary Choir Concert TONIGHT at 6:30 p.m. See you there!
