Congratulations to our Lady Eagles softball team and Coach Welch for picking up their first win of the season tonight with an 8-5 come from behind victory over visiting Alexander! After falling behind 5-0 the Lady Eagles bounced back to score 8 unanswered as Makayla Carmichael shut out the visitors over the last 5. The girls pounded out 13 hits with freshman Addy Stewart leading the way with 3 hits and 2 RBI's. Makayla Carmichael(3 RBI's), Lucy Ruble(2RBI's) and Madison Lauer(RBI) all collected 2 hits to deliver Coach Welch his first career victory! On the mound Carmichael found her groove after giving up 5 runs early(all unearned) in going the full 7 complete innings and struck out 11. Great game ladies and congratulations Coach!

Kaylin Huggins, Callie Richards, and Emmalynn Winkelmann performed with the Special Guest chorus and Wesley Blair with the Children’s Chorus. These students worked hard to learn the music with the guest choir learning all five pieces in just one day!

Select members of the BHS Student Council spent the weekend at the Ohio Association of Student Leaders state conference. It was a huge weekend for Belpre with Lila Dugan being named to the OASL state board and earning runner up for ambassador of the year! On top of her individual accomplishments, the BHS Student Council earned the School Impact Award for the 24-25 school year! These young leaders are doing such amazing things. Thank you to all of the student council members and to Mr. White for putting in the time and effort needed for accomplishments like this at the state level!
