Liz Morrison, Monica Bailey, Lila Dugan, Bella Morrison, along with BHS Student Council Advisor, Robin White, were presented the official flag of the Ohio Association of Student Leaders this morning at Ohio State University during Impact Day for the OASL Summer Leadership Workshop. They received the flag because BHS has been named the host school for the 2026 OASL State Conference next March. BHS will host approximately 250 Student Leaders from all across Ohio during the two day conference. This is a huge honor to be chosen and will be a major focus for the Student Council in the next school year. The above named students are attending the weeklong Summer Workshop where they are gaining valuable skills in their own leadership journey.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Workforce Development Board and the City of Parkersburg are offering incoming and graduating Seniors the opportunity to participate in an Apprenticeship Readiness Camp from July 7-11 at the Laborer's Training Center in Mineral Wells. Students will have the opportunity to explore the skilled trades by touring the local training centers and meeting with their Business Managers.
The program will run from 8:30am to 2:30pm July 7-11 and will include hands-on projects, field trips, VR career simulations and guest speakers. Participants will earn certificates in workplace safety and customer service. Space is limited. To register, see the flyer and QR Code.

Our wrestlers and coaches have been hard at work at wrestling camp the last few weeks. We've had a great turnout with upwards of 25-30 wrestlers attending some sessions! Coach Packard and Coach Gibson have been working extremely hard to drum up interest and teach the basics to our up and coming wrestlers. There is still one week left if you're interested in stopping by and checking it out.

Congratulations to Senior Liz Morrison for being selected as one of sixteen representatives for the 2025 Ohio Student Safety Advisory Council for Ohio Governor Mike DeWine. Council members will develop strategies to encourage their peers to actively engage in maintaining a safe school environment and will be advocates for students’ overall well-being. Students will work directly with OSSC school safety liaisons and mobile training officers to organize events, focus groups, and trainings to help highlight student success and safety best practices at various schools. These members will also act as a sounding board for the Ohio School Safety Working Group and OSSC on student marketing campaigns and other projects to ensure that student voices are represented. Congratulations Liz and good luck!

Last Friday, May 9th we had the honor of hosting The 5th Annual Washington County Snack and Field Day. We were determined to make it memorable and enjoyable for all involved. The event provided access to a fun, engaging, adaptive, and sensory friendly field day experience to all 300+ visiting students and their support staff. Belpre's love for serving our community was on full display as students had the chance to engage in their choice of any of the 45 activities provided. The event showcased many of the things that make BCS special and was by run completely by students, staff, and community members. Sunshine Awards were given to student participants from each school that radiated positivity to those around them throughout the day.
