Earlier this afternoon Gov. Mike DeWine announced the state's guidelines for the safe return of students in the fall. We are grateful to him and other state leaders for the amount of flexibility and discretion he is giving to local officials. To that end, we have been working closely with local public health officials and the other county school districts for several weeks to brainstorm and discuss our plan. We hope to have more information to share with our families in the next two weeks.
Nationwide Children's Hospital is hosting a series of Connect and Learn opportunities for Parents and Caregivers of Children with Developmental Disabilities. Families will connect with experts for a 60-minute session using Zoom each week to learn best practices and discuss issues. Registration is required to attend - more details can be found at https://www.nationwidechildrens.org/for-medical-professionals/education-and-training/echo/series . Many thanks to Nationwide Children's for their outreach and support!
The regular monthly meeting of the Belpre City School District will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2020, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the Stone Administration/Early Learning Center. This meeting is a meeting of the Belpre City School District Board of Education in public for the purpose of conducting the School District’s business and is not to be considered a public community meeting. There is a time for public participation during the meeting as indicated in the agenda.
Due to COVID-19 physical attendance by the public is prohibited. Members of the public can attend the meeting virtually via the link https://youtu.be/1OWyzKvSf5I.
The most recent update from census.gov shows that around 67% of Belpre has responded to the census so far this year. The next phase of census collection is to send workers door-to-door to collect information which is not ideal given the current COVID-19 pandemic. If you have not already do so, please visit https://2020census.gov/ and take a few minutes to complete the survey! Our school district depends on federal money that is allocated based on census results and Ohio is at risk of losing a congressional representative if we are undercounted.

We are excited to honor our Belpre High School Class of 2020 this weekend! As a reminder, we
will continue our traditional, albeit socially distanced, Senior Parade this Friday, May 15, 2020 starting at 6 pm. Seniors are invited to decorate their vehicles and arrive at the high school at 5:45. The parade map is below. We invite all faculty, staff and community members to support and honor our seniors by making banners and cheering on these wonderful students as they pass by.
PLEASE REMEMBER: we cannot congregate. Please cheer on our graduates from the safety of your vehicle or from your front yard. We are grateful to the Belpre Police Department and Public Health Department for working with us to approve this event but it can only be held if we all follow the protocols and stay socially distant and safe. We thank you in advance for adhering to these guidelines and for all that our community is and has done to help our graduates celebrate this momentous occasion.
